JAPANESE COLOURS [ FOR UI ]™ is an ongoing R&D project series presented by the reductionist design studio Nuevo.Tokyo™, showcasing the elegance and adaptability of Japan's traditional colours in today's digital landscape.

Inspired by the unique beauty and meticulous craftsmanship of Japanese arts and design, Nuevo embarked on a research journey to understand the distinctiveness of Japanese colours, delving into their origins and historical significance.

After numerous experiments, the aim is to offer an interpretation of traditional colours, bridging them into the digital era. By curating collections of colour swatches and gradient combinations, the project aims to make them accessible to a global audience.
